Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 26, 2023
At TestMyGamePad.com, we believe that testing your hardware shouldn't cost you your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle your data, our use of cookies, and your rights under GDPR and CCPA.
How We Process Controller Data
We do not transmit your controller inputs or button presses to any server. All testing happens locally on your device using your browser's built-in HTML5 Gamepad API. The visual feedback you see on screen is rendered by your own computer's graphics processor. We physically cannot see, record, or store your gameplay inputs.
1. Data Collection and Usage
While we do not collect input data, we collect standard web traffic information to maintain and improve our website:
- Log Data: Like most websites, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit. This may include your IP address, browser type, the page you visited before ours, and the time and date of your visit.
- Device Information: We may collect non-personal information about the device you use to access our services, such as the operating system version, to ensure compatibility with our testing tool.
2. Cookies and Third-Party Services
We use cookies (small text files stored on your device) to enhance user experience and support the free nature of this tool.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our site (e.g., which pages are most popular). This data is anonymized and does not include personally identifiable information.
Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
3. CCPA and GDPR Rights
Depending on your location, you have specific rights regarding your data:
For EEA/EU Users (GDPR)
You have the right to request access to your personal data, correction of your personal data, erasure of your personal data, and to object to processing. Since we do not store personal accounts or controller input history, we generally hold very little, if any, personal data about you.
For California Users (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion of their information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
4. External Links
Our website may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any website you visit.
